Manglar

I built this canvas myself, and for a long time it hung blank in my dining room, waiting for the project that would deserve its size. Every time I looked at it I thought the same thing: whatever went there had to be good enough to fill that much space. So I didn’t paint. One day I stopped waiting for that perfect project, and that’s when "Manglar" found me. I wanted something imposing, dense, truly loaded with paint — and I found that density in the mangroves of the Colombian Pacific: the green that crowds between the branches, the aquamarine that surfaces through the jungle. The canvas stopped being a threat the day it found something just as big as itself.
